Tips & Guidelines
- Request the new album at local record stores NOW
This is a great way to start creating buzz around the new album. Get with your friends and visit all the music stores you normally shop at (and even some that you don’t!) to make sure that they are going to have the new album for sale once it is released. The more demand these stores have for it, the more likely they are to carry it!
- Be nice
Make sure to be considerate to everyone you speak with – our goal is to create even more Avett Brothers fans and people are more likely to pay attention if there are spoken to politely.
- Message Boards
Post on message boards that you are already involved with rather than joining a bunch of new boards just to post about the new album. This is commonly known in message board circuits as spamming and doing so hurts promotions more than helps. If you want to join new music related boards, great! Just be sure to be active on them for a few weeks before you start promoting. Also, ignore all rude and negative comments – you are there to promote the band, not argue with immature posters.
- Buddy Icons and Banners
Use all Tools we have created for you. The more people see promotion for the Avett Brothers through AIM icons, banners, bulletins, etc., the more likely they will be to check them out!
- Promotion Flyers
We have set up promotion flyers for you to use – simply to go the Tools section, download, print, and plaster the city! Make as many copies as you like and hand them out to anyone, anywhere, anytime!
